Deep – Time

There are countless businesses built on ancient databases. Don’t worry, we had to look it up too. What we tried to do with this spot is really show the viewer what old technology looks like to remind them that business computing is more than just how it looks on the outside. Using the sleek Boston offices of international law firm Gunderson Dettmer, we were able to transform a conference room into a 70s-style data center with propping help from the Rhode Island Computer Museum. These guys supply antique computing equipment for films of all kinds and it only cost an arm and half a leg to have them freighted up to Boston. The movers deserved a big tip, because those things were heavy. They just don’t make ‘em like they used to. Portland artists Tessa O’Brien and Will Sears were responsible for the brilliant set design and custom signage.

Oh, and if you recognize our principal talent, there’s a reason. Our own Senior Animator, Nathan, was personally tapped by the CD at the agency to play the role.
